MC Loire from Manchester hooked up with DJ Sheik from Hull in 1992 via a mutual friend, and together they formed Hearts of Darkness. After two 12″ releases on the Ruf label in ’94 & ’95, a track on the Ruf Diamonds LP in ’98, and a track on our own Mind The Gap tape in ’98, that was it, this elite duo faded into obscurity, until now! Fortunately, enough music was produced to warrant a full LP and finally it is being released. Style Warrior gather the previously released tracks and three more that were never officially released and present them here, A Journey Of A Thousand Miles. Hearts of Darkness are proud to be part of the strong northern UK Hip Hop scene that inspired so many and held its own, at a time when London artists dominated.
The vinyl album comes as a 180gm pressing with a printed inner sleeve featuring transcribed lyrics, a printed outer sleeve on heavyweight board, an A4 press release insert, a download code included for access to the full LP in mp3 format, and a pvc sleeve.
